Breakouts

The purpose of this session is to educate teachers and school administrators about the perspective of students and parents who live in poverty.  Explore the diverse types of poverty and learn how the different lived experiences influence our students. Accurately understanding poverty will allow you to work more effectively across race, poverty, gender, and generational barriers. It will also provide a different filter in which to address poverty; a filter without blame or judgment that allows teachers and school administrators to better connect with students in the war zone of poverty.
