Sarah O’Connor

Sarah O’Connor is passionate about assisting schools in creating college-going cultures that educate and empower at risk youth.  Sarah has served as an administrator in Northern California for the past six years.  Prior to her work in administration, Sarah taught for 8 years, pausing in 2008 when she was chosen as one of Harvard University’s “Urban Scholars” to study at risk youth with a focus in adolescent identity development and first generation college access.  Since her time at Harvard, Sarah has focused on developing college access lessons, creating curriculum for Advisory periods, and working with schools to support classroom teachers in explicitly teaching college knowledge to support first generation college applicants.  Sarah is the co-author of College Conversations: 140 Ways to Engage PreK-12th Grade Students for College Readiness Success.  Sarah lives in Napa with her husband and two teenage boys.
